Motorhome Inspection Checklist 

Check the Exterior: 

  • Tires and lug nuts 
  • Tire pressure and tire sidewalls 
  • Battery 
  • Transmission 
  • Power Steering 
  • Engine coolant 
  • Engine oil 
  • Windshield washer 
  • Brake fluid 
  • Sewer hoses and waste valve for tears and holes. TIP: Make sure the tank is empty prior to inspection, it can get messy if it’s not 
  • Oil level in generator 
  • Locks and hinges 
  • Shore power 
  • Trailer lights (inside and out) 
  • Parking brake 
  • Fuse puller 
  • Break lights 
  • Emergency flashers 
  • Extra fuses 
  • Roof, doors, windows, sealants and seams for cracks or missing caulking 

Inspect the Interior: 

  • Test and clean water systems and lines 
  • Pipes and faucets 
  • Gas appliances (LP tanks and stove burners) 
  • Furnace 
  • Water heater 
  • Water pressure regulator 
  • Air conditioning 
  • Window defroster 
  • Carbon monoxide detector 
  • Fire extinguisher 
  • Electrical adapters 
  • First aid kit 
  • In-line water filter
